Claudia & Jamar – Wedding at the St Regis Resort Bora Bora

How did you meet and how was the proposal?

“It was a hot spring day May 19, 2013 in San Jose, California, USA.  I was driving south on the 87 Freeway when I saw an all white 7 Series BMW with a handsome chocolate driver (Jamar). I drove up to catch him and saw him smiling so I thought well he is cute but he is going to have to chase me. I increased speed to 80 and he caught up. Then I increased to 90 and he caught right up. At that point I knew he would give me a fun run so I rolled the window down and yelled to him “Pull over”. He quickly took the next exit at on Capitol Expressway. Two days later we had our first date and 4 years later Jamar proposed on the same freeway under the Capital Expressway sign. We now start the beginning of a never-ending story.

What inspired you to get married in Bora Bora?

I saw Bora Bora in a magazine as a little girl and said I wanted to have my wedding there when I grew up. I was blessed to meet the man of my dreams who made that come true. Being a Brazilian/Nigerian, water and beautiful beaches are a normal thing to my family.

This destination was truly the best as it was so relaxing and nothing could stress you out when you are in such a beautiful place and the resort fully cater to your needs every step of the way.

Who designed your wedding dress?

The wedding dress was my design as I knew I wanted a bathing suit that looked like an elegant wedding dress. I looked everywhere and could not find it so I searched a dress maker and found the woman to make my vision come to existence. Ese Azenabor is a wonderful and truly talented dress maker out of Dallas Texas. (www.eseazenabor.com) We meet and I showed her my ideas and as we talked she drew out my wedding dress. She captured exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be happier. Bridesmaid’s dresses came from a bridal store in Campbell, California called Trudy’s.”
